Pipetting
Following are the complete details of correct pipetting method.
Setting The Volume
HOW TO SET THE VOLUME
- Hold the micropipette horizontally.
- If you want to increase the volume move the plunger clockwise with your thumb, and to decrease the volume move it anti- clockwise.
Pipetting
HOW TO DO PIPETTING
- Insert the micro tips of selected volume range.
- Set the desired volume.
- Depress the operating button to the first stop.
- Dip the tip under the surface of the liquid in the test-tube Approximately 1 cm deep, & slowly release the plunger button.
- Withdraw the tip from the liquid touching it against the inner wall of the test-tube to remove excess liquid.
- Deliver the liquid by gently depressing the plunger button to the first stop. After 1 second depress the plunger button all the way down to the second stop. This action will empty the tip.
- Release the plunger button to the ready position.
- Push out the used tip by pressing the tip ejector.

Pipetting Technique
Forward Pipetting
- Press the operating button to the first stop.
- Dip the tip attached to the pipette to a depth of about 1 CM, and slowly release the operating button withdraw the tip from the liquid touching it against the inner wall of the reservoir to remove excess liquid.
- Dispense the liquid into the receiving vessel by gently pressing the operating button to the first stop. After one second, press down the operating button to the second stop. This action will empty the tip. Remove the tip from the vessel sliding it along the wall of the vessel.
- Release the operating button to the ready position.
Reverse Pipetting
- Press the operating button to the first stop.
- Dip the tip attached to the pipette to a depth of about 1cm., and slowly release the operating button withdraw the tip from the liquid touching it against the inner wall of the reservoir to remove excess liquid.
- Dispense the liquid into the receiving vessel by pressing the operating button gently and steadily to the first stop. Hold the button in the position. Some liquid will remain in the tip position this shouldn't be dispensed.
- The liquid remaining in the tip can be pipette back into the original solution or thrown away with the tip.
- Release the operating button to the ready position.
